She wades in shallows amongst the sedge looking for a meal, stunning and elegantly feathered, the great blue heron lives up to her name.

Nice picture, Pam.
I like the way the water is lit in the background, while she steps, hidden in the fore.
The size of this bird always takes me by surprise! I remember my first ever view of one, rising suddenly from a grassy ditch, with its longs legs still dangling while its powerful wings swept the air, I was in awe if its magnificence.
